RTCA/DO-160 MIL-STD-810 Accelerated Life Testing
RTCA/DO-160 and EUROCAE/ED-14
RTCA/DO-160 is published by RTCA, Inc., a global organization comprised of industry and government representatives which develop industry standards to assure the safety and reliability of all aviation electronics equipment (Avionics). Manufacturers of Commercial Avionics equipment selling their products in the United States, Europe, and around the globe must meet RTCA requirements, including RTCA/DO-160. The European Organization for Civil Aviation Electronics (EUROCAE) works jointly with RTCA in the development of avionics standards, and publishes its own, identical document known as EUROCAE/ED-14.
TÜV SÜD Product Service is a member of RTCA and participates in the development and ongoing change of this standard.
MIL-STD-810 specifies the requirements and test procedures for equipment that must survive and operate when exposed to the extreme effects of the physical environment. Testing includes temperature, humidity, vibration, shock, sun, fungus, etc.
